Rosie AI Review: Pricing, Plans and Alternatives for 2026

By Adam Sandler · 2026-10-19

Short answer: Rosie AI is an AI phone answering service for small businesses that starts at $49 a month for 250 minutes, with a 7-day free trial, based on its pricing page checked October 19, 2026. There's no per-minute overage: if you go past your minutes, its terms say Rosie moves you up to the $149 Scale plan, so it's a good deal under about 80 three-minute calls a month and an expensive one just above that.

What Rosie is

Rosie is an AI receptionist from heyrosie.com. You forward your business number to it (your existing number stays the same), and an AI voice picks up, answers questions from what it learned on your website and Google Business Profile, takes messages, and texts or emails you a summary, transcript and recording after every call. Rosie says more than 2,000 small businesses use it.

You can also forward only some calls. Rosie's FAQ says you can turn it on for after-hours or overflow calls only, using conditional call forwarding from your phone carrier.

One quick name note, because Google autocomplete suggests "why is rosie ai shutting down." That shutdown was a different company: an Excel modeling assistant also called Rosie AI, whose founder posted in November 2025 that it was winding down. The phone answering Rosie is still running. Its status page showed all systems operational on October 18, 2026.

Rosie pricing and plans

We read these from Rosie's pricing page on October 19, 2026. Our database captured the same $49 for 250 minutes entry plan on October 15, 2026.

PlanPrice / monthMinutes includedWhat it adds
Professional$49250Message taking (2 scenarios), booking links by text, spam detection, website chat
Scale$1491,000Books directly on Google Calendar or Calendly, warm and live transfers, texts callers during the call, 5 scenarios
Growth$2992,000Waterfall transfers to several numbers, custom training documents, white-glove onboarding, priority support
CustomQuoteCustomFor complex or multi-location businesses

Every plan includes the iOS and Android apps, 24/7 answering, multiple calls at once, 10+ voices, English and Spanish on every call, your choice of area code, and a Zapier connection. Paying annually gets 2 months free.

The one add-on is website texting: $50 a month for 25 text conversations, then $1 per extra conversation. The website chat widget itself is free on all plans.

How Rosie bills: the two rules that matter

Rosie's terms of service, last updated February 5, 2026, add two rules you won't see on the price cards.

  1. Minutes round up. Each call is billed in 60-second increments and rounded up to the next full minute, counted from when the call connects to the AI until it hangs up. So a 2 minute 10 second call counts as 3 minutes.
  2. Going over means a bigger plan, not overage. If you use more than your plan's minutes in a month, Rosie automatically upgrades you to a higher plan, and you stay on it until you downgrade.

The terms also say plan changes that add fees apply to the current billing period and at least the next two. Read together with the auto-upgrade rule, one busy month could mean three months at $149. We can't tell from the public pages how Rosie applies this in practice, so if it matters to your budget, ask Rosie in writing before you sign up.

Rounding matters more than it looks. Here's the arithmetic: 100 calls that average 2 minutes 10 seconds are about 217 minutes of real talk time, but each call bills as 3 minutes, which makes 300 billed minutes. That's past the Professional plan's 250.

What Rosie costs at 50, 100 and 200 calls

Same workload we use across ReceptionistRank: calls of 3 billed minutes each, from different callers. For every other service we used its entry plan plus its published overage, which is how our cost calculator works. Rosie publishes no overage rate, so the calculator marks it "not computable" past 250 minutes. The Rosie row below instead applies the auto-upgrade rule from its own terms, as of October 19, 2026.

ServiceEntry plan50 calls (150 min)100 calls (300 min)200 calls (600 min)
Rosie$49 for 250 min$49$149 (moved to Scale)$149 (Scale)
OnCrew$49 for 100 calls$49$49$148
Marlie$49 for 250 min$49$66.50$171.50
Phonely$50 for 200 min$50$75$150
Trillet$49 for 150 min$49$79$139
My AI Front Desk$99 for 200 min$99$124$199

Two things jump out. Up to 83 three-minute calls, Rosie is $49, tied with the cheapest plans we track. From 84 to 333 calls, it's $149, and at 100 calls every alternative in the table costs less. Marlie is the closest match: same $49 for 250 minutes, but it charges $0.35 a minute past that instead of moving you to a new plan.

At 200 calls, Rosie's Scale plan is in line with the others, and it includes calendar booking and live transfers that Professional doesn't.

Who Rosie fits

Rosie is a good pick if you get fewer than about 80 calls a month, or you only want it for after-hours and overflow calls. The $49 plan is simple, covers 24/7 answering in two languages, and the 7-day trial lets you hear it on real calls before paying.

Look at an alternative if your volume swings around 250 minutes. A month that runs a little long costs you $100 more on Rosie, while a per-minute plan like Marlie or Phonely would charge a few dollars. If you need direct calendar booking or call transfers, remember those start on Rosie's $149 plan.

How to check if Rosie fits your call volume

  1. Pull last month's inbound calls and average call length from your phone provider's call log.
  2. Round every call up to the next full minute, since that's how Rosie bills, and add them up.
  3. If the total stays under 250 with some room to spare, the $49 plan works. If it's close, plan on $149.
  4. Put the same numbers into the AI receptionist cost calculator to compare per-minute plans.
  5. Start the 7-day trial with conditional forwarding on overflow calls only, and watch the minutes counter in the app.
